A New Era of Photography? Unleashing Midjourney V5 with GPT-4 (God Mode)
Turn ChatGPT into a powerful Midjourney prompt machine with basic and advanced formulas.

GPT-4 and Midjourney V5 were recently released and one cool way to make the most of these AI tools is by creating outstanding photos that go beyond average AI art.
How is that possible? We only have to feed ChatGPT (GPT-4) with formulas that will create Midjourney prompts that contain advanced things like the type of camera or the camera lens used for a photo.
But that’s not all! We can go one step further and tell ChatGPT everything about Midjourney (how it works, updates in V5, parameters, prompt examples, etc) using an enormous prompt that you can copy from a template I’ll share in this article.
Can GPT-4 and Midjourney V5 start a new era of photography? Let’s find out!
Note: In case you’re new to Midjourney, check this guide about Midjourney to get you started.
Basic formula: Create images in different styles
To get good photos with Midjourney, we need to think about what makes a good photo and then add such things to our prompt.
Adding things like the camera type, camera lens, style of photographs, and type of film to our Midjourney prompts can help us generate better images.
The only problem is that most of us aren’t professional photographers and don’t know what camera or lens will be best for a photo. That’s why we need to give ChatGPT a formula to generate the Midjourney prompt for us.
Here’s a basic formula to use in ChatGPT (credits to Matt Wolfe)
Use this Midjourney prompt formula:
(image we’re prompting), (5 descriptive keywords), (camera type), (camera lens type), (time of day), (style of photograph), (type of film)Please respond with “yes” if you understand the formula
Once we give the formula above to ChatGPT, we can start generating a Midjourney prompt.
For example, If tell ChatGPT to “Write 3 Midjourney prompts for a cute cat”, I’d get the output below.
